Dogs just
love to catch things! But beware. Jumping up with all four feet into
the air and twisting to catch a floating flying disc can be dangerous for
larger breeds, overweight dogs, and 'weekend warriors'. The disc dogs
you see on TV are well conditioned professional doggy athletes.
Cruciate ligament rupture in dogs:
This is a
serious and fairly common injury often caused by dogs jumping up
to catch floating discs, and can require surgery.
Regular safe
exercise is vital in maintaining your dogs joint and muscular
heath....but don't
overdo it.
